Rafael van der Vaart has been named Barclays Player of the Month for October.

The Dutch playmaker takes the top award after scoring three goals and setting up another in only his second full month in the Barclays Premier League.

Rafa started the month in style with both goals as we beat Aston Villa 2-1 at the Lane.

He then provided a tap-in for Roman Pavlyuchenko in the win at Fulham when his clever chip beat Mark Schwarzer and came back off the crossbar.

He followed up with a tap-in himself from Peter Crouch’s knockdown in the 1-1 draw against Everton.

That goal maintained his fantastic record of scoring in every home match he’s played in the Barclays Premier League so far!

Rafa becomes the fifth Dutchman to receive the award - following in the footsteps of fellow countrymen Dennis Bergkamp, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Arjen Robben and Robin van Persie.

The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football’s governing bodies, the media and fans.

Epic fucking picture.
